Photos from Fun run

Here's a couple of pictures from the fun run of Boxing Day. given thats its the first time I've used the Bronica for moving subjects I'm satisfied with the result. Also as I mentioned in the previous post i only had a 100 ISO rated film in the camera (Ilford Delta 100) so sutter speeds were slow. I changed the film after these shots to Delta 400 and it will be interesting to see them with the faster shutter speed.

Boxing day fun

Here in Bungay, Suffolk, UK we have a fun run round the common on Boxing Day. This year it was entitled the Groggy Doggy Run and people were encouraged to take their dogs with them. Given the amount of rain the marshes were flooded and the route was changed but the event went ahead and I decided to try to capture the flavour of it with my Bronica.

The weather was kind. It had been pouring with rain on Christmas Day but Boxing Day morning was glorious blue sky but I was looking for some good muddy puddles to catch some "decisive moments" This did highlight a problem that film has over digital in that one is limited to one ISO - the film that's loaded. I do have two backs for the Bronica so I can shoot both colour and black and white but both films had an ISO rating of 100 and I had a few frames to go before changing films so I couldn't shoot at a very high shutter speed in the wooded areas where the best mud was. I ended up with an exposure of around 1/60 or 1/125 fully open at f3.5 on my 150mm lens. I developed the film earlier this morning and its currently hanging up to dry so I should be able to get the photos scanned this afternoon and I'll post the results here then.

A little bit backwards perhaps but as I have just received back from the lab my first roll of Kodak Ektar 100 shot with my Bronica ETRsi I'll pop a few photos here now. The first three were taken during my morning walk with the dogs around Bungay golf course and the other two at Southwold.

The B & W I converted using Silver Efex Pro but would have preferred to shoot it with B & W film but I wanted to finish the roll of Ektar so I could see the results and that was the last image on the film.It really didn't work in colour though, the north sea is not really an inviting colour!

Hello!

Now I am "retired" from professional photography I have decided to shoot exclusively with film.

As some of you will know who have been following my postings elsewhere I have a Bronica medium format camera and a Zorki 35mm camera and have now unearthed my father in laws old Kodak bellows camera dating from probably the early 1930's which shoots 8 photos to a roll on 120 film. I'll post some of each on here shortly to start the ball rolling.

Oh and in case you are wondering about the title, well good old East Anglians should know what it means but if not give it a google! Its also the name of our narrowboat.
